Lubricates

WD-40 protects metal surfaces with corrosion resistant ingredients to shield against moisture and other corrosive elements. WD-40 protects tools from rust and corrosion and protects electrical connections in car and truck engines.
Penetrates
WD-40 frees stuck, frozen or rusted parts. The lubricating properties of WD-40 then keep these parts working freely. It will penetrate and loosen stuck screws, door knobs and hinges.
Displaces moisture
Because WD-40 displaces moisture, it quickly dries out electrical systems to eliminate moisture-induced short circuits. WD-40 displaces moisture from spark plug wires, bicycle chains and fishing tackle.
